Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel was quite pleasant overall. The room I had was cozy and clean, though it would have been nice if the price was a bit lower considering the lack of period features in the medieval part of the hotel. The service was satisfactory, with options like housekeeping and laundry available. The location was convenient for visiting the town, although some road works made it a bit tricky to access. The dining experience was exceptional, thanks to the delightful service of Natasha. However, the facilities were limited, and the parked blocked by road works was a downside.
My stay was very comfortable and peaceful. The room was nice and cozy, with a comfortable bed and a separate sitting area that I loved and used a lot. It was obviously originally designed for someone with some disability as there were rails around the toilet, making it very easy to access. The hotel's location was very convenient, ideal for getting around Bury St Edmunds with the concierge kindly booking a taxi for my early morning start. I found it to be in a quiet area, exactly what I was looking for.
This hotel is a hidden gem! The rooms, in a very old building, are full of character and furnished wonderfully in line with the building's style. They are spacious, oozing with unique character, and come with all the essential facilities you'd expect in a top-notch hotel. The large wet room is a standout feature. The service is exceptional, offering housekeeping, grocery shopping, laundry, and a lovely welcome drink. The location may not look promising at first, but it's actually perfect for exploring the town, especially in the heat. Additionally, the property is near the main ring road and provides a cozy setting just slightly off the bustling town center. The dining options are varied, and the cooked breakfasts are a highlight, with a toaster available for personal use. The facilities are top-notch, offering a comfortable dining table, cozy chairs, and convenient amenities like a fridge and microwave.
